In my recent dealings with Blue Square Sound recording studio here in Indy, the feature "Pray for Dawn" came into our discussions. The sound artist seemed very interested in assisting us in finishing what sound we have to record, and scaling up the quality of what we do have. Sound has been an issue we have been dealing with for quite a while, and now we feel we have a good direction to travel.
Voice over work has been completed and we're preparing for foley work to begin. In addition, as the weather turns from cold to warm, we'll be finishing up the pick-ups shots for the film. On the list is a death scene, some close-ups to flesh out a fight and the second half of a flash-back.
Pray for Dawn has been taken into the hands of a professional video editor who will tweak any small issues we have had and a sound editor to assist in finalizing sound. We will be recording voice overs for the last few actors as well as finishing foley work.
The Pray For Dawn website has been up for a while now and the trailer has received great reviews from those who have seen it. We look forward to wrapping up this project and getting it out to all who have waited patiently to see the fruits of their work. Thanks again to all cast and crew who put their heart into this project. I feel you will be proud once you see the finished film.
We have now past our third month of post production and are seeing light at the end of the tunnel. With the video editing completed we have entered the sound editing phase, and though tedious it has been a wonderful experience watching our project bloom.
Now we feel it is time to give you all a quick look at what is to come. Our website, www.prayfordawnthemovie.com is up and running. We present behind the scenes galleries, as well as stills from the film, and info on the cast and crew. Our first teaser trailer is up now and available to stream or download in HD.
Pray for Dawn was a script originally intended to give us a project through which we could learn the inner workings of film production. From storyboarding to location scouting, casting to film editing, we dove in head first and learned through trial by fire. With everything being said and done, we have come to a point where we feel we really have something here.
After a grueling four months it looks as though WOTS's first feature film production, Pray for Dawn will finish shooting in the coming week. We will then proceed directly to the post production phase. I would like to thank the cast and crew for their time and effort. It was difficult after losing locations to weather and such, but you all pulled through, and made this an enjoyable experience. I cannot wait to finalize this feature so that I may begin our next project.
Just a quick update. Things have been going well with the company. We are preparing to film our first feature. Shooting will begin on June 13Th 2008, and will hopefully wrap up June 20Th. We have just finished signing contracts with the cast, and all locations have been finalized. We are still in the process of signing the rest of the crew, and we hope to have those positions filled within the following week. A copy of the script will be posted on the website in the next few days for those who might like a sneak peak. We will update you through the following weeks.
