Our newest member to Writers of the Storm brought with him a unique story idea that we produced in the past couple of months into a film short. I am pleased to announce that the film will see completion here in the next few days adding to our collection of great short stories. "Audition" tells the story of a young car salesman who happens to be in the right place at the right time, and is given the chance to audition for a blockbuster film. But will his own insecurities stop him from achieving his dream? Once completed, "Audition" will be featured at various film festivals around the nation in 2012.

A Whole New Level

Writers of the Storm LLC has recently taken “Fox Hunt”, an original script from our vault, and has decided to move forward on the production of that story as a feature film. We have joined forces with AVA Video Productions (http://www.avavideoproductions.com/) a company with over thirty years’ experience in the video production field.

After completion of the script, the film has been cast, most of the crew have signed on, and some financing has been obtained. We should be starting our pre-production on the film starting in late January of 2012. With the addition of AVA, we are working on a whole new level of filming. The quality of the cameras, the expertise of their crew, along with our creative storytelling will make this not only the largest project we have undertaken, but also the most successful project we will have made to date.

In Memory Of: The Film

It is my pleasure to announce that after months of hard work our short film "In Memory Of" has been completed, and working copies of the film are being produced now to be sent to various film festivals around the nation. Even with our lack of advanced technology, we feel that the story holds true, and this film will be a success. We are also looking into creating a section on our site in the near future to feature this and other shorts we have produced.

In Memory Of

Our short concept, "In Memory Of" began production in January of 2011, and I could not be more pleased with the results of our efforts. With only a couple of shooting days left we have begun the process of sound editing and composition of the score.

Upon completion of the film we will have several screenings in the Northern Virginia and D.C. area. Since several of our actors come from GMU we are working to have an initial screening in their theater in late April. Thank you to all who have made this production possible.

Blue Square Sound

In my recent dealings with Blue Square Sound recording studio here in Indy, the feature "Pray for Dawn" came into our discussions. The sound artist seemed very interested in assisting us in finishing what sound we have to record, and scaling up the quality of what we do have. Sound has been an issue we have been dealing with for quite a while, and now we feel we have a good direction to travel.

"Under Contract" Moves Forward

On Thursday March 18th, Writers of the Storm met with Gordon Bonham and Brian Goodwin at the Blue Square Sound recording studio here in Indianapolis to work on the original song for the upcoming project, "Under Contract", and things couldn't have gone better. Working with these two professionals was a rare treat for myself. Not a moment was wasted, and the collaborative effort of everyone helped shape a wonderful product.

We will be returning to the Studio on Tuesday March 23rd to finish mixing. After the song is complete, the pre-production will continue. We are looking at a late April shoot, but no exact date has been set.

Post Production Sound and Pick Up Shots

Voice over work has been completed and we're preparing for foley work to begin. In addition, as the weather turns from cold to warm, we'll be finishing up the pick-ups shots for the film. On the list is a death scene, some close-ups to flesh out a fight and the second half of a flash-back.

Under Contract

February signals the beginning of pre-production for another short film, Under Contract. Intended to be a one-day shoot at the end of February, with minimal script and only one location, this new production once again brings many creative heads to the table to produce a piece about a local musicians rise to fame and the prices he has paid.

Pray For Dawn: Post Production Continues

Pray for Dawn has been taken into the hands of a professional video editor who will tweak any small issues we have had and a sound editor to assist in finalizing sound. We will be recording voice overs for the last few actors as well as finishing foley work.

The Pray For Dawn website has been up for a while now and the trailer has received great reviews from those who have seen it. We look forward to wrapping up this project and getting it out to all who have waited patiently to see the fruits of their work. Thanks again to all cast and crew who put their heart into this project. I feel you will be proud once you see the finished film.

In Memory Of Production

It is coming to the holiday season, and Writers of the Storm is going to celebrate by entering production of our next film, "In Memory Of". We have finished a fantastic script, and have begun casting actors as well as working to fill out our crew.

Shooting will begin in December and continue through January of 2010. Our film is an ambitious one. Being a 15 minute thriller, it is filled with twists and turns and great imagery. A portion of the script will be posted on our site, and more news is to follow as we continue pre-production.

Life After the 48 Hour Film

July and August proved to be wonderful times for Writers of the Storm. We entered the 48 Hour film project, and even though we encountered technical problems along the way, we finished a film that now we can be proud of.

"Grandpa's Magic Secrets Revealed" was our mockumentary, and we will be posting this film on our website soon. This project brought over 26 cast and crew together many of whom had never met, and through the process of filming made them all a team. Now we have the makings of a great film crew and are already planning our next project.

We have now past our third month of post production and are seeing light at the end of the tunnel. With the video editing completed we have entered the sound editing phase, and though tedious it has been a wonderful experience watching our project bloom.
